To Register Your Child
Please call 703.271.8134 to schedule an appointment to register your child. Parents must show proof that children meet the following eligibility requirements:
Less than 19 years of age Resident of Arlington County Family income at or below 200% FPL Not covered by private insurance Eligibility is assessed before the first medical appointment and annually thereafter. Payment for Services
APC accepts Medicaid, FAMIS Plus, and FAMIS. Fees for uninsured patients are deeply discounted from fifty percent (50%) to one hundred percent (100%) depending on family income.
APC Needs Your Support
Providing comprehensive, quality, compassionate care to Arlington’s most vulnerable children is labor intensive. Visits are often longer because children’s health care has been delayed, or even denied. They are sicker and have more complications from illnesses or injuries left untreated in the past. Interpreters may be necessary as the majority of APC parents are recent immigrants. Case management is complex as families cope with the social and emotional issues of poverty, limited education and acculturation. Physicians, care coordinators and case managers must provide intensive parent/patient education to overcome these challenges.
As a result, total payments received from Medicaid, FAMIS and patients covers only 33% of APC expenses. Annual operating losses would exceed $1 million were it not for the ongoing support of Virginia Hospital and the community. Community support funds thousands of visits for uninsured children each year. It helps pay for medications for children whose families cannot afford them. Contributions purchase supplies and equipment so APC has the resources it needs to provide outstanding care. To Make a Donation

Volunteers help APC extend its limited financial resources as far as possible. Volunteers have served as interpreters, providing the vital link between pediatricians and parents who do not speak English. Volunteers read to children in the waiting area, serving as role models for parents and teaching children the joys of reading. Volunteers provide administrative support for our office management. Of course, volunteers are also the heart and soul of our fundraising efforts.
Volunteer opportunities are available during office hours: 9:00 am through 5 pm Monday through Friday. Some special projects and fundraising assistance is needed during evening and weekend hours.
